Privacy Policy

Fridge Panda helps you save recipes, plan meals from what you already like, and shop for only what you're missing. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you have. In short: your recipes, photos, and plans are yours — we never sell your data.

Who we are

Fridge Panda ("we", "us") is a meal-planning app for iOS and Android. This policy covers the app and this website (fridgepanda.com).

What we collect

• Account data: you can start anonymously; if you create an account we store your email address to keep your library across devices.
• Content you create: recipe links you paste and the recipes we extract from them, photos of your fridge you choose to scan, meal plans, and grocery lists.
• Preferences: the dietary needs, allergies, likes/dislikes, household size, and goals you set during onboarding — used to personalize your plans.
• Usage & diagnostics: basic product-analytics events and crash reports that help us fix bugs and improve the app.
• Purchase status: whether you have an active subscription (not your card details — see Payments).

How we use it

• To extract a clean recipe from a video or link you share, and to detect ingredients from a fridge photo you take.
• To build weekly meal plans from your own saved recipes and your stated preferences, and to generate fridge-aware grocery lists.
• To operate your account, sync your data across your devices, and provide support.
• To keep the app safe, diagnose crashes, and understand which features help so we can improve them.

AI processing

Turning a video into a recipe, and turning a fridge photo into a list of ingredients, is done on our servers using third-party AI and media-processing providers. We send only the content needed for that task (for example, the video URL or the photo you scanned). We do not use your content to train third-party AI models.

Who we share it with

We share data only with service providers that run the app on our behalf, under contract, and only as needed to provide the service:

• Hosting & database: Supabase (authentication, database, and secure storage for fridge photos).
• AI & media processing: providers that transcribe videos and extract recipes/ingredients.
• Analytics & diagnostics: PostHog (product analytics) and Sentry (crash reporting).
• Subscriptions: RevenueCat, together with the Apple App Store and Google Play.
• Notifications: the platform push services used to deliver app notifications.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for advertising. If you use a shared "Family" household, the recipes, plans, and lists in that household are visible to the members you invite.

Payments

Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google through their in-app purchase systems. We (and RevenueCat, our subscription manager) receive your subscription status to unlock features — we never receive or store your full payment-card details.

Data retention

We keep your content for as long as your account is active so the app works across your devices. Fridge photos are used to produce your ingredient list and are retained with your account; you can delete individual items or your whole account at any time.

Your choices & rights

• Access & delete: you can delete recipes, plans, and lists in the app, and delete your entire account (which removes your associated data) from Settings.
• Notifications: you can turn push notifications on or off in the app or your device settings.
• Camera: fridge scanning uses your camera only when you choose to scan; you can decline or revoke the permission in your device settings.
• Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (access, correction, deletion, portability). Contact us and we'll help.

Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with our hosting provider using access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and limit access to it.

Children

Fridge Panda is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy as the app evolves. We'll change the effective date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app.
